Immersive Experience by Mail
Saturday, Jan 1, 2022 at 12:00 AM (ET)

Associate Professor Kerrie Seymour and a cast of performing art students and alumni will be the first to pilot "Electra's Diary," a play-by-mail experience. The founders and artistic directors of this project are West Hyler and Shelley Butler, who have worked on a combined seven Broadway Shows, including the smash hits "Jersey Boys," "Beautiful" and the Cirque Du Soleil Musical, "Paramour." This interactive story gets told through a series of five letters over the span of four months. Artistic Stamp is a Drama League award nominee for "Outstanding Socially-Distanced Theater." Taking audiences on interactive adventures via handwritten correspondence, you'll create an immersive theatrical world that connects actors and audiences through the power of the written word.

Come explore "Electra's Diary," which centers around the adventures of an imprisoned teenage daughter of a king from an ancient Greek family. Plot twist: it's happening in contemporary times. And Electra is pissed. The audience becomes Electra’s confidante as they receive and reply to her and other characters' handwritten letters, advising her on the best path forward in a world full of danger and intrigue. The audience actually shapes the outcome of the story. Sharpen your pencils, everybody...

"Electra's Diary" is a limited subscription told through a series of five letters. The play-by-mail experience takes place between January - April 2022. The subscription includes a wrap up event with the cast in April. Subscriptions are limited and pay-what-you-can.
