Dr. Lisa Sain Odom is an Assistant Professor of Music (Voice/Musical Theatre) at Clemson University. A versatile singer and actor, equally comfortable in the worlds of opera, concert performance, theatre and film, she holds B.M. and M.M. degrees in Vocal Performance, as well as a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance. Odom has performed numerous opera and musical theatre roles including Julie Jordan (Carousel); the Baker’s Wife (Into the Woods); Papagena (Die Zauberflote); Ann Page (The Merry Wives of Windsor); and Musetta (La Boheme). She has appeared in concert, as well as in commercials, industrials, and independent films shown throughout the US and Europe. She also performs opera, musical theatre and jazz in concert throughout the Southeast with her soprano trio The Blonde, the Brunette and the Redhead. Odom is a vocal coach who has worked on shows including Rent; Guys and Dolls; She Loves Me; and Bright Star and has taught private vocal students currently working in film, regional theatre, cruises, Disney, and on Broadway. As a teacher, she was selected for the prestigious National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Intern program and in 2021 was awarded the NATS Vocal Pedagogy award.
